Enhance your general knowledge with Ted talks

Ted talks are videos recorded on the TED conference. Speakers are prominent academics, educators, researchers, philanthropists, environmentalists, scientists, technologists, artists and other experts in their areas. These short talks focus on one specific topic which helps the listener to widen their horizon.

ENGLISH TRAINING

1. Choose a topic of the TedTalks playlist .

2. Watch the clip completely, just focusing on the rough context. Don't take notes!

3. Write a summary of the clip.

4. Watch the clip again with English subtitle, stop the clip whenever you hear an interesting thought or sophisticated sentence. Note it down.

Important:

Note down complete sentences which you would like to learn and repeat them aloud. Don't learn single words, this is too difficult for the brain to remember and apply in a correct way.

5. Use the sentences for everyday coaching (see below).

EVERYDAY COACHING

... Write the memorable sentences on sticky notes and pin them on a place where you see them throughout the day (e.g. monitor, bathroom mirror, door)

... Read the sentences whenever you look at them.

... Unpin them after 1 week. After that your brain will not recognize them anyway.

... Replace the notes with new ones.
